TOUGH QUESTIONING

I went into the bank one day to discuss my options in purchasing a CD. I asked the bank representative about the penalty for early withdrawal and was informed that it would be the equivalent of 90 days of simple interest. That seemed simple enough, but I always like to test my comprehension when people explain things to me, just to avoid any misunderstanding. So I responded, "So then as long as I wait 90 days before withdrawing the CD I will at least get all of my original amount back?"

I thought that was a simple enough statement to evaluate--at least as simple as the statement she had made to me. It appeared that I thought wrong. She looked at me as if I was speaking Klingon and stammered and questioned me for another five minutes before she finally said "yes", that was indeed true.

I suppose I should have written that woman an apology for plying her with such difficult and complex questions.
