Paying for college
If the average child puts $1 in a jar every time he or she witnesses a violent act on TV, how much of his/her four years of Harvard tuition would he/she be able to pay for by the time he/she reached the age of 18?

Answer: All of it, and have over $54,000 left over to pay for his/her nice new BMW to get back and forth to classes (and maybe a nice Uzi to carry with him/her)!

Explanation: The average child sees 200,000 violent acts on TV by the time he/she turns 18, according to California State University's "The Sourcebook for Science Teaching". Harvard tuition (at the time of this writing) is $36,305 per year. Multiply by 4, equals $145,220. (Several models of BMWs sell for $50,000 or less. I didn't check on the price of an Uzi.)
